General plans for the development of Smolevichi, Rudensk and Fanipol will be presented for public discussion
Master plans for the development of satellite cities of Minsk - Smolevichi, Rudensk and Fanipol - will soon be presented for public discussion. This was announced to reporters by the director of the research and design RUE "Belarusian Research Institute of Urban Development" Alexander Khizhnyak following a meeting with the head of state on topical issues of functioning and improving the efficiency of the construction industry, BelTA informs.

According to Alexander Khizhnyak, the developers of the master plans informed the President about the implementation of his instructions to update the master plans of the satellite cities of Smolevichi, Rudensk and Fanipol. “We have completed the development of these projects, they are ready for public discussions, expert reviews, approvals and submission to the head of state for approval,” he said.

The peculiarity of the master plans for the development of these cities is that the emphasis is placed not only on housing construction, but also on creating conditions for the employment of residents. Thus, the general plan of the Smolevichi was developed in conjunction with the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park "Great Stone", which is located nearby and where there will be jobs for the city's residents.

As for Rudensk, a large investment project of the Belarusian National Biotechnological Corporation is being implemented next to it. "In the town-planning project, a decision was made to form an industrial park" Rudensk "in the territories immediately adjacent to the site of the BNBK," said the director of the enterprise.

In Fanipol, according to the general plan, the territory of the free economic zone "Minsk" will be actively developed.

The master plans of the remaining satellite cities are planned to be updated in 2021.
