At the Minsk National Airport launched a pilot project to deploy automated border control systems using the principle of e-biometric identification - so-called electronic gates (e-gates). BelTA learned in the Belarusian State Border Committee.
Fixed now in the zone of departure kiosk allows for personal identification by comparing photographs from Belarus passport with photograph taken with the camera booth. At the same time automatically check the authenticity of the document.
According to the results of the first stage of the pilot project will be decided on the possibility of deployment in the airport on the line border control fully functional hardware and software "electronic gate". Their use in the long run will reduce the time of border controls, and in particular with regard to the Belarusian citizens.
The pilot project conducted by the State Border Committee of Belarus in cooperation with a number of domestic companies specializing in this field, and a leading manufacturer of "electronic gate" in the world of Portuguese company Vision-Box.
