Zubrenok announces media contest for Belarusian school students

The best works will be shortlisted for the final stage that will take place in October-November

The education and recuperation center Zubrenok has announced the 14th edition of the high/middle school national media contest Fresh Wind, BelTA learned from the education directorate of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

The contest is meant for students of the 7th-9th grades who are interested in journalism, make radio and video content, run Internet blogs, write articles for children's newspapers and magazines. Applications should be submitted by 15 September. Contestants should present their three latest publications, bloggers should include an essay describing the purpose of their blog and a link to it.

The criteria for choosing the winner include information value, visual and technical execution, social significance and relevance. The best works will be shortlisted for the final stage that will take place in October-November. The results will be published in mass media and on the official website of Zubrenok.

The purpose of the contest is to support and encourage aspiring journalists and to promote information literacy. The contest is held by the Education Ministry of Belarus.
