Anatoly Isachenko: “Interregional cooperation becomes more effective”

At the VI Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia, which takes place in St. Petersburg, sectional sessions have started. The delegation of the Minsk region, headed by the chairman of the regional executive committee, Anatoly Isachenko, took part in a meeting on the development of cooperation between the regions of Belarus and Russia.

At the opening of the section, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Utyupin noted the importance of developing production cooperation relations between enterprises of the machine-building sector of Russia and Belarus within the framework of the Union State. As an example, he cited the plant "BELAZ". In 2017, the company adopted a program to create on the territory of the Russian Federation centers of technical support for consumers of BELAZ equipment. Currently, the implementation of this program is in the active phase.

Now about 60 percent of the company's products are accounted for by mining enterprises in Russia. The shipment of the Belarusian manufacturer of quarry machinery in 2018 exceeded 1 billion dollars, while about 600 million dollars fell on the Russian market.

According to the chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko, BELAZ is an example of successful industrial cooperation, when the final production encourages suppliers to develop new products and world-class products. The company not only expands the volumes of production and sales of its products in Russia, but also actively interacts with Russian suppliers of components, even partly to a certain extent stimulates them to further develop products: generators, diesel engines, engines and other components, which to some extent form new models of dump trucks.

On the whole, Anatoly Isachenko believes that there is a huge potential in interregional cooperation that can accelerate the growth rates of mutual trade between Belarus and Russia.

“Interregional cooperation is gaining momentum, it is becoming more ambitious, productive, pragmatic, and focused on results,” the head of the central region said.

Also, as part of the section, the chairman of the Zhodino City Council of Deputies Natalia Sushko made a report. She noted that the city forms more than 13% of regional volumes of industrial production. Zhodino is open to Russian partners, and currently 5 cooperation agreements have been signed with the regions of the Russian Federation.

- To increase the investment attractiveness of two land plots located in the city, became part of the free economic zone "Minsk". We are ready to provide these territories to Russian companies for the creation of industries with tax breaks, as well as to offer Russian investors free land for the implementation of their projects, said the chairman of the city council of deputies.

The meeting participants came to the conclusion that state authorities at all levels in both countries need to intensify efforts to develop diverse, mutually beneficial and effective forms of interregional cooperation on the basis of the Union State in various fields of activity, including in the socio-economic field.

Additionally. During the expert session, attention was also paid to the formation of a common educational, information space, cultural and humanitarian projects and others.

In the section “Tourism as a driver of economic and cultural development of the regions of Russia and Belarus”, the head of the sport and tourism department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Yevgeny Buloychik took part, and in the section “Educational space of Russia and Belarus: projects and development directions” the head of the main education department spoke Tatiana Apranich.
